Mission and Vision
Mission
The mission of the Indiana University Better AI for a Strong Rural Maternal and Child Health Environment (BARE) Lab is to advance maternal and child health by developing innovative, community-engaged technologies that support pregnant women in rural and underserved communities. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and rigorous research, we create tools that integrate into real-world clinical and patient environments to improve access and outcomes.
Vision
The BARE Lab envisions a future in which every pregnant woman has access to timely, intelligent, and compassionate maternal health support. We strive to lead the nation in the development of trustworthy AI systems that combine remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and culturally tailored communication to transform prenatal care, empower patients and providers, and strengthen maternal health equity throughout Indiana and beyond.
